The California Department of Public Health has released updated requirements for attending and hosting mega-events, such as concerts, expos, and sporting events. The current threshold for indoor mega-events is 500 attendees and for outdoor mega-events it is 5,000 attendees.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a full approval for the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine to prevent COVID-19 disease in individuals 16 years of age and older. The vaccine continues to be available under an Emergency Use Authorization for individuals aged 12-15 and for third doses for individuals who are immunocompromised.

Getting vaccinated and wearing a mask are the best ways to prevent COVID-19 infection, including from the new Delta variant. Research shows the vaccines are effective against the Delta variant by reducing virus spread and preventing severe illness and death from COVID-19.
