Medical Reserve Corps

What is the Medical Reserve Corps?

The mission of the Medical Reserve Corps is to recruit, organize, train, deploy, and retain volunteer medical and health professionals, and non-medical residents, who willingly contribute their time, skills, and expertise to prepare for and respond to threats of terrorism, public health emergencies, and other community health needs.

Tulare County has three MRC units: Visalia, Porterville, and Tulare.

Why Should I Become a Medical Reserve Corps Volunteer?

Research has shown that people who volunteer have fewer chronic diseases and improved emotional health and tend to live up to five years longer than those who do not volunteer.

How Can I Become a Member of the MRC? Just contact the Medical Reserve Corps Coordinator.
