COVID-19 Vaccine Available at Multiple Locations in Tulare County
Eligible Residents Can Schedule an Appointment in My Turn

Tulare County residents and workers who are currently eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine and have been unable to secure an appointment elsewhere can now get vaccinated at multiple locations throughout the county. Simply visit My Turn at: https://myturn.ca.gov/ to sign up, or call 1-833-422-4255 if in need of assistance over the phone

As vaccine supply has increased, Tulare County officials are ramping up vaccination efforts, and vaccination clinics have expanded to multiple locations. Anyone who works or is employed in health care, emergency services, education & childcare, food & agriculture, and all residents age 65 and older can make an appointment to get vaccinated at this week.

“With this increase in allocation, we urge all our eligible residents and workforce to not delay and get vaccinated as soon as possible,” shared Dr. Karen Haught, Tulare County Public Health Officer. “This vaccine is our best line of defense against the COVID-19 virus, as we look to build immunity in our community, allowing us to safely lift restrictions on businesses, open schools, and ultimately bring this horrible pandemic to an end.”  

Eligible residents and workers can obtain a vaccination appointment this week in My Turn at the following locations:

  • Dinuba Memorial Building, 249 S. Alta Ave. in Dinuba
  • Earlimart Veterans Memorial Building, 712 E. Washington Ave. in Earlimart
  • Lindsay Wellness Center, 860 North Sequoia in Lindsay
  • Porterville Memorial Building, 1900 West Olive Ave. in Porterville
  • Woodlake Community Center, 145 N. Magnolia Street in Woodlake

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has issued guidance for fully vaccinated people. The guidance states that fully vaccinated people can gather indoors with other fully vaccinated people in small groups without wearing masks or practicing physical distancing. Individuals are considered fully vaccinated two weeks or more after they received the second dose of either Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or two weeks or more after they received the single dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Fully vaccinated people can also visit with unvaccinated people from a single household who are at low risk for severe COVID-19 disease, indoors, without wearing masks or physical distancing. For example, fully vaccinated grandparents can visit with their unvaccinated grandchildren, as long as their grandchildren do not have serious health conditions.

Fully vaccinated people should continue to wear a mask and maintain physical distance in public. They should mask, physically distance, and practice other prevention measures when visiting unvaccinated people at increased risk for severe COVID-19 disease or who have an unvaccinated household member at increased risk for severe COVID-19 disease and when around unvaccinated people from multiple households. Fully vaccinated people should also avoid medium- and large-sized in-person gatherings. There is a growing body of evidence that fully vaccinated people are less likely to have asymptomatic infection and potentially less likely to transmit COVID-19 to others. However, given the need for additional research, preventive measures continue to be important during vaccine implementation.
