John Mauro is HHSA’s Deputy Director of Adult Services. He is responsible for the Agency’s supportive, protective, and conservatorship services to adults and elders and is dedicated to developing service delivery systems that are consumer-focused, timely, and effective. John is also committed to a well-supported staff that is competent, well trained, informed, and valued.
John spent over thirty years in HHSA’s Child Welfare Services (CWS) Division, beginning as a social worker and concluding as the CWS Deputy Director. For the last three years, John has been responsible for Adult Services programs, including In-Home Supportive Services, Adult Protective Services, and the Public Guardian’s Office.
John is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, holding a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Purdue University and a master’s degree in social work from the University of Illinois.
