Donna Ortiz

Donna Ortiz is the Mental Health Director for the HHSA. Donna oversees the administration of Mental Health Services and Alcohol and Other Drug programs. She has over 25 years of experience in public service, developing and implementing various programs and services that provide children, families, and individuals with the necessary support needed to thrive in our community. Her commitment to others includes developing strong partnerships throughout the community to provide a system of care that is culturally sensitive to the needs of our most vulnerable population.

Donna focuses on treating the whole person by continuously improving access to quality care. Her dedication to family inclusion, opportunities for engagement, and multi-disciplinary approaches align with the Agency’s vision of “Healthy children and adults, supportive families and thriving communities.”

The County of Tulare invites local non-profit organizations to apply for one-time State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (SLFRF) for eligible project activities or programs that help Tulare County residents and the community respond to and recover from the COVID-19 pandemic and public health emergency. The application period is now open and will remain open for 30 calendar days, closing on October 12, 2022, at 5:00 p.m.

988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline Is Coming to Tulare County

On July 16, 2022, we in Tulare County will join the rest of the United States in beginning to use the 988 dialing code. 988 will be the new three-digit number for calls (multiple languages), text, or chat (English only) that connects people to the existing National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.

Held the second Saturday of each month in Visalia, Walk with a Doc is a free community outreach program, which strives to encourage healthy physical activity in people of all ages. This doctor-led group is a fun and safe place to go for a walk, learn about health, and meet new friends.
