Tobacco Awareness and Education 2013 Highlights

Tobacco Awareness and Education 2013 Highlights

Tobacco is the single most preventable cause of death in the nation. Tulare County’s Tobacco Awareness and Education Project would like to recognize and commend the following six multi-unit housing complexes for adopting smoke-free policies:

Riviera Apartments (Visalia)
Timberline Flats (Visalia)
Timberline Apartments (Visalia)
Timberline Annex (Visalia)
Whitney Manor Apartments (Visalia)
Mt. Whitney Place (Lindsay)

The Tobacco Awareness and Education Project is dedicated to protecting Tulare County residents from the harmful effects of tobacco, tobacco smoke, e-cigarettes, and similar products by reducing the number of persons beginning to use tobacco, decreasing the use of tobacco products throughout the county, reducing exposure to second-hand smoke in multi-unit housing complexes, and raising awareness of health problems associated with tobacco use.

Please join us in congratulating the above housing facilities for their contributions to the health and safety of our community. We look forward to adding many more housing complexes to that list in 2014!

If you would like more information about this project, please visit us at 4031 W. Noble Avenue in Visalia or call us at (559) 623-0175.
