Fiscal Operations

Merriam-Webster’s defines fiscal as “of or relating to financial matters.” Does a service-oriented agency such as ours need a whole branch of operations relating to financial matters? You bet we do! A large part of the funding for HHSA comes from taxpayer dollars. Making sure that those dollars are wisely spent is essential to the functioning and ultimate success of all the programs and services we offer.

HHSA’s Fiscal Operations Branch is responsible for directing, planning, and coordinating a wide variety of fiscal processes and procedures, as well as developing the Agency budget, managing contracts and facilities, and interacting with community members and County employees. To help ensure that HHSA’s day-to-day services and functions are completed as efficiently as possible, the Fiscal Operations Branch includes numerous units, each of which provides an important aspect of financial direction and oversight. These units include Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, County Expense Claims/Assistance Claims, Compliance, Contracts, Facilities, Fiscal Accounting, Medical Billing, and Public Guardian-Fiscal units. While each unit is responsible for a variety of duties, they all work together to support the Agency’s mission and goals.
