Homeless Fund | Animal Services Wish List  | CWS Toy Drive | Stockings for Seniors

With the autumn season here and the holidays fast approaching, everyone seems to get busier—and Tulare County HHSA’s programs are no exception! Under Friends of Tulare County (FTC), the Homeless Fund Drive is underway, along with our annual Animal Services Wish List, Child Welfare Services (CWS) Toy Drive, and Stockings for Seniors Drive.

Whether sheltered or unsheltered, Tulare County has seen a rise in a variety of needs for those who are encountering overwhelming barriers to meet essential needs. These individuals need a supportive hand and philanthropic generosity to help ease the burdens of their situation and transition into a better future. Donations to the Homeless Fund will help supply toiletries, clothing, identification card/application fees, furnishings, or cooking utensils/appliances, or may fund expenses like a utility bill or car repair for those experiencing, at risk for, or exiting homelessness.

If you’d like to support our Animal Services this holiday season, you may do so by simply dropping drop off your donation Monday–Saturday from 10:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. at the Tulare County Animal Shelter located at 14131 Avenue 256 in Visalia. To find out what is needed, check out the Animal Services Wish List. Tulare County Animal Services is always in need of supplies and items to give extra love to our sheltered pets. Donations to the Animal Services programs are welcomed all the year 'round!

Additionally, you can help ensure that every child and youth in Tulare County who receives the services of CWS and is not able to be in the family home this holiday season receives a gift. This is an embraced challenge, as the CWS Toy Drive has provided a gift to more than 1,200 youth a year – brightening the smiles on our children's and youths' faces as well as those of our social service workers. CWS social workers will distribute the gifts to CWS foster children and youth throughout the first week of December.

The Kings/Tulare Area Agency on Aging is partnering with CSET Senior Services, HHSA Adult Protective Services, and YOU to help bring holiday joy to more than 1,700 isolated and homebound senior citizens in Tulare County this holiday season. Stockings for Seniors is accepting warmth items, such as beanies, gloves, socks, lap blankets, etc., as well as monetary donations to help purchase warm items and other needs to ensure homebound and isolated seniors are not forgotten during the holidays. For more information, contact Bonnie Quiroz at (559) 972-0323 or (559) 713-2877.

Thank you for helping to make spirits bright this holiday season!
