Health Advisory Committee
Purpose: The Health Advisory Committee’s purpose is to advise and assist the Tulare County Health & Human Services Agency in the agency’s efforts to address health issues affecting the community. Examples of the Committee's work include making recommendations on health strategies, goals, and funding resources and assisting in assessing strengths and gaps in the public health system, helping to develop strategies to address unmet needs. Recently, Healthy Tulare County Week was organized and promoted by this committee, and it is currently helping with development of a health element for the county's General Plan. The Committee also reports periodically to the County Board of Supervisors.
Membership: The Committee consists of 15 members, including representatives from each county supervisorial district, one from the Board of Supervisors, one from the County’s environmental health division, the Public Health Officer, and five members from other community organizations or agencies.

Meetings: Meetings are open to the public and are held the second Monday of even-numbered months, from 1 to 2:30 p.m., in the first-floor RMA (Resource Management Agency) conference room at Government Plaza, 5957 South Mooney Boulevard, in Visalia.
