Tobacco Awareness and Education
Did you know that tobacco is the single most preventable cause of death in the nation?
The Tobacco Awareness and Education Project is dedicated to protecting and preserving Tulare County residents from the harmful effects of tobacco, tobacco smoke, e-cigarettes, and similar products by reducing the number of persons beginning to use tobacco, decreasing the use of tobacco products throughout the county, and raising awareness of health problems associated with tobacco use.
The Project provides residents with tobacco cessation resources and works to prohibit the sale of tobacco to minors, reduce secondhand smoke exposure in multi-unit housing complexes, and increase retailers’ compliance rate with tobacco laws.
See the Contact and Location tab for more information, or to report violations of such laws as the smoke-free workplace law, sale of tobacco to minors law, or the smoke-free entryway law.
See the Resources tab to learn about the benefits of quitting smoking.
