Suicide is a public health problem that is preventable. It’s an issue that has touched many of us in some way or another.
Raising awareness of the warning signs and symptoms of suicidal behavior can help save lives. Through community education about suicide prevention, we can work together to reduce the factors that increase the risk of suicide and increase the factors that help protect against suicide.
Providing prevention resources, supporting and enhancing prevention programs, and monitoring and researching the problem are all means by which, together, we can develop a community that is committed to reducing the number of suicides and suicide attempts.
