Do you need to register the birth of your baby or get a certificate of death for a family member? The Office of Vital Records is responsible for registering all of the births and deaths that take place in Tulare County. We can help you with registering the birth of your baby, getting a copy of a recent birth or death certificate, and making changes to birth or death certificates.

You may either come in to our office or mail in your request. Effective January 1, 2014, birth certificate fees are $28.00 per certified copy, death certificates are $21.00, and fetal death certificates are $18.00. Application forms are available in both English and Spanish. 

Please note: This office can only provide copies  for the current and previous years. For all prior years, you must contact the Tulare County Clerk’s Office at (559) 636-5051.

Only authorized persons may receive certified copies of birth and death certificates. Please visit the Resource tab for more information about who is authorized.
